Thank You (Part 1)

A week before the wedding,

1. Weather was gloomy in LB.
2. I got several Mad Science confirmations for Dec.6-8.
3. We still didn't have a printer for the newspaper program Yobic and Ching worked so hard on.

The night before our wedding,

1. Our tropical flowers supplier informed us that she couldn't deliver our flowers in bouquets. Something about how the flowers would wilt right away if they're transported and they're in bouquets. So our flowers arrived "loose".

2.  Our marriage certificate came back to us blank. The supplier we got to do the inputting was giving us the soft copy to print even if the file was made in a special "marriage certificate maker" software which we didn't have (but they have).

3. We still couldn't find candle stands for the ceremony. (The original plan of borrowing form the church didn't work out.)

On the day of the wedding,

1. The lay-out/numbering of the tables wasn't the same with the plan I worked on when I was doing our seat plan.

2. The breakfast for the guests who spent the night at the resort, for the suppliers and for early birds didn't come on time.

3. Nobody could find the rings when the whole entourage was already all set to walk down the aisle.

Our wedding was far from p-e-r-f-e-c-t. But it was beautiful. So allow us to say Thank you to (grabe, we don't know where to start with this!)

our families (Ma, Ton, MC, Tito Turo, Tita Daisy, Kuya Archie, Ate Pam, Chiz, Kitty, Papa Cris, Mommy Lolit, Kuya Dennis, Ate Tine, Keona, Ning, Yel, Angel, Joy) who helped us with the preps, may it be looking for suppliers, lending us their wedding stuff, picking up the newspaper programs and running errands, making arts and crafts, taking charge of the wedding day's breakfast amid the chaos, or moving the queue for hair and make up.

Ate Len and Ate Janyt, our kasambahays, for making the paper flower throwers and helping MC with my other wedding errands.

Aaron, Jaren, Kuya Bu, Pipo for arranging our bouquets... including MY BRIDAL BOUQUET!

Pam, for doing two 32-hour (med) shifts just so you can come to our wedding and be my MOH. And for accomplishing four copies of our marriage certificate even if you just came from such a shift. And for checking up on me when you can.

Jing, for making the boutonnieres, the "Sure ka na ba talaga Ninong Dong?" banner, the flower girl headbands... for fixing the "Bridal Suite" (na bininyagan rin nya, hahaha)... for helping out e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e: making of the paper crafts for the ceremony area, arranging the bouquets, managing the registration table... You're the epitome of the '03 Factory Worker. :D

Trina for making the improvised candle stands hours before the wedding. Thank you to you and Melai for being a part of the OTD manpower. :) Thank you also Lal for your help in delivering breakfast.

the JEC Band plus Kuya Bu for staying up til dawn of Sat just to practice. Thank you also Nadia for sharing with us your talent in playing the violin and Izel for your beautiful singing. We love (lalo na ni Kuya Ton) your Ever, Ever After! :D Thank you Nica for helping me out with my surprise song number. And thanks so much Bajoy for coaching me! It was helpful and SO FUN having you lip the song to me while I sang! :))

Mykmyk for helping us with our music needs.

Ilia, for the beautiful invite artwork, for putting together our wedding AVP and putting up with all my kaartehan about it, for the photo montage and for the beautiful song number reminding Dong to take care of me, or else...
also Buddies for giving the invites as wedding present! Thank you Kara and Elaine for coordinating.

JR for doing the guitar accompaniment for Ate Ilia's song number even with just a week's notice.

Kuya Gerry and Ate May for the beautiful song number as well.

Our amazing pre-nup team (Ilia, Joseph, Kuya Bu, Angel, Ning, Kayanne)!

Nicolas Photgraphy for documenting our special day. Can't wait to see the photos and videos!

Kayanne and Summer, and Joseph na rin, for slaving over our truffle give-aways buffet. Thanks Ja for trying to guard it. :)

Ms. Lara Berris for the wonderful food and the beautiful venue styling! A lot of people liked the set-up. :)

Ms. Melba and Kuya Cesar of Lina's Orchard for being accommodating with our venue needs.

Mia and Holden for our YUMMY cupcake tokens! After Christmas, please control our orders ha. I want us to stick to our wedding diet, even if just for the first year of our marriage. :))

KayAnne (again), for your many contributions! Just thinking about itemizing everything is enough to exhaust me... and make me think na gusto mo talaga ako i-usurp as Bride. :)) Thank you so much my Jr. Bride!

Yo and Ching for The Matrimonial Bulletin! We got many compliments for it. I got teary-eyed reading the LB article - which had little to do with us,. :)) Love the part about how LB stole our hearts before Dong stole mine and I stole Dong's surname.

Hannah Kong for my elegant wedding dress. Thank God I listened to you! :)) Thank you Sir Francis and Ma'am Lilia for my veil (their wedding present) and for making time to attend our wedding despite your busy schedule.

Ate Ning Dio for your patience in making the dresses for our flower girl dresses. Making our set didn't come easy what with some of the girls living in Laguna and with one in Japan. (For some of the girls, she had to work with measurements which were just texted to her.)

Tita Arnie Carpio and team for our hair and make up. Thank you for making me pretty during our Love Shoot (pre-nup) and during the actual wedding! And thank you for all the make-up trials we did! May utang pa kami sa inyo! :))

our entourage who did more than just walk down the aisle in prescribed attire, but who really assisted us in our wedding needs.

our Ninongs and Ninangs who gave us prayers, advice and lots of love.

Arvin and Ate May for your high-energy hosting! Thank you for being very flexible with the changes in the program flow. And thanks Arvs for waking up early last Sat even if you came home late from another gig the night before just so we could talk in detail about the program. Love you both!

Ptr. Nel for putting up with and answering all our ceremony program questions and concerns, and for your words of wisdom to us about marriage.

Ates Di, Bajoy and Lui, for our wedding cake - which we didn't get to eat except for two spoonfuls! - people loved it! Thank you Ates Di and Bajoy for the awesome OTD coordination!!! You were one of two main factors for my unbelievably serene disposition during the wedding. (Yes, even when we couldn't find the rings.) The other factor is prayer/God.

And a big THANK YOU to all our loved ones - to all of you - who have been praying for us, specifically to my ASEO family, the Nieblings, the Harrisons, the Bacanis, the del Rosarios, the Valeras, the Olegarios, Rara, Joni and Sharae.

(Hopefully we didn't forget anybody. If any of you reading this think we have, let us know!)

Our wedding was far from perfect. But it was so much fun, filled with stories that I'm excited to tell our kids and grandkids about. And it's very beautiful, because it was put together by the loving hands of our family. No friends, just family. Our wedding reminded me that what Dong and I got aren't just friends, but a lot of loving brothers and sisters. :D
